Hey all, here is a cotton top that I rebuilt. It was ebay acquisition a few years ago. I actually won it with another cotton top that I rebuilt too, both of which I gave to my Dad for Christmas a while back. I'm having a hard time finding picks of that one, but I'll add it on here if I can find it.
I thought I'd post it though, cause you don't see cotton tops like these too often.
Thanks,
-Brian

VERY NICE! Thanks for posting.
Re: Cotton Top Rebuild
Thank you so much Maria and Paul!
It's funny, i was just thinking how you don't see a lot of Cotton Tops, and these popped up in my email from ebay. They have a paper door/window that I don't think I've seen, it looks like the Stick On windows that Ted sold on his site, but with different colors. It is also longer and more narrow than the Stick Ons.
Heres the links, Im also posting the pics incase the links disappear.

Re: Cotton Top Rebuild
I agree. That is an ODD paste on door. However it is MUCH later than the paste on ones that Ted had listed. I think these two cotton toppers are very likely post war. I have several cotten topper churchs that are BIG from that era. An interesting look but likely before 1955 I would think. Tom
Re: Cotton Top Rebuild
Okay, I'll weigh on on the stick-on window. The yellow and green window to the left of the yellow house is part of a very popular (and very badly printed) door that you see on a good number of eBay houses. It's NOT from a stick-on - these doors were stuck IN and llluminated from behind. The problem is that the sellers almost always misdate their houses so I can't use that to date your cottons.
Re: Cotton Top Rebuild
I think you're right Tom, I would guess 50's too.
Paul, If they don't end up going for too much on ebay, I may bid on one. Then I can get the dimensions for the window for you to add to the resources page. Plus have a new cotton top in my village!

Really nice Brian. You certainly are very talented!
Re: Cotton Top Rebuild
I know this is an old post, but I have a question: Is there any tutorials on how to "install" the cotton on top of the roof, and what kind of cotton batting to use? Thanks in advance!
