greetings to all...
first...go to this link...it's a tutorial on making windows...and we can thank forum member, steve, for the method...
http://www.cardboardchristmas.com/html/ ... rames.html
now...if you don't have any transparent red acetate or other red window material...here's a "practically free" alternative...
use ordinary business envelope windows colored with red permanent marker...it couldn't be any easier...
i recommend you apply marker twice to each side of the envelope window material and let dry between coats...
the windows really do "glow" as you can see in the house photo below...i'll probably be using this material from now on...
my very best regards...howard...

Great tip!! Thanks, Howard!!!
Re: window material...PRACTICALLY FREE...and they "glow", to
Howard do you back the free material with tape so it doesn't suffer from the "pokey finger" or "pokey light" bulb syndrome?
Or is the window material strong enough on its own?

Re: window material...PRACTICALLY FREE...and they "glow", to
Interesting question. Glad you brought it up. I did a quick test. The business envelope window material is about like printed paper doors. Perhaps even stronger than the door material. Bottom line--strength should not be a problem. I do like your suggestion of backing up with clear tape. I'll have to do that on my next house. Certainly can't hurt.
