Hello,
Need advise please,
This morning I purchased 17 Putz houses at an auction.
The first three in the back row are larger than all the rest.
The large solid off White House is stamped made in USA.
All the rest of the houses are stamped made in Japan.
The first five houses in the middle row have coconut on the roof and base.
The five houses in the front row have corrugated cardboard on the roof and the walls except one doesn’t have it on the walls.
I’m not sure what I have here, I’m hoping I’ve stumbled across some good finds.
Any advice on these houses and how to restore wold be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Luann

Re: Putz houses purchase
Thank you for that information Maria.
Im fairly new about learning about Putz houses.
I remember my Dad used to set up a village under the Christmas tree when I was little.
There were bright colored houses and he used black sand to make streets, there were street lights and a white fence around it.
That’s all I remember about them but I’ve loved them ever since.
About two years ago I came across Howard’s how to make Putz houses and I’ve enjoyed making some of those and the ten cent city.
So any information I can learn and how to restore the house’s is appreciated.

Re: Putz houses purchase
Hello Maria, if your curious about the Dolly large white house those are it actual doors and windows. Made in the USA during the war and a little after. I'm trying to get a handle on the fuzzy roof houses. I'm almost positive that they are Made in Japan. I think the fuzzy stuff might be original to the pieces? Anybody know for sure? I first thought they might have been embellished?
