barn entry putz inspired by ted's 09/2003 house of month...

Post by Howard »

good afternoon...

here's a small project i have been working on this week...when i wasn't following the 4 page and growing "haciendia" topic...

it's not an exact copy of the september 2003 house of the month...but similar...there is also another view shown for the june 2004 house of the month...i didn't put on the balcony on the side opposite the dog house...

this one is on a 5" x 7" base...a little less than 5" tall including base...still have to prime, paint and add mica/glitter, etc...

my very best regards...howard...

It's a Dutch colonial! We have three of these in my immediate neighborhood--I have always loved this barn style!

I love the front steps.

Will only get better with paint and glitter.

here is a pix of the "luffah trees" i'm making for the house...the bamboo floral stakes are very strong and don't break as easily as ordinary twigs...when painted brown and dry brushed with a few highlghts you can't tell what they are...

Howard:

Did you buy the berries your using for the trees during Christmas time. Or can one find them all the time.

Ran thru my local Micheals and AC Moore and did not see any.

regarding "red berries"...here's a google link to many on-line sources...i think maria may have a link to some specific vendors and posted under the "supplies" topics previously...

good morning...

finished up the house sunday afternoon...tried to use as many colors as possible...darker shades than i usually do...

the street car in the picture is one i've had for a few years...it's a nice alternative to a train set if you have a small village display area...this one is in the On30 size category...it's just one of the "back and forth" street cars paul covered in an article on this forum...here's the link...

http://www.cardboardchristmas.com/forum ... ?f=3&t=206

you'll probably be seeing more trains and street cars in my project photographs...guess you have it figured out by now...this old man still plays with trains... :D

my very best regards...
