PUTZ HOUSE HISTORY BOOK...

Post by Pete R.Oehmen »

Finally, after all these years I've finished my book "THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF PUTZ a HISTORY AND COMPENDIUM". This book was suppose to be done for the 2019 Golden Glow of Christmas Past Annual Convention in Chicago. It wound up being a much larger project than I fist thought. This work still needs some tweaking but I'm proud of the results. I now have the Library of Congress Control Number (LCCN) as well as the Copyright. I have added a few pages of Acknowledgements in the beginning of the book. I gratefully give credit to all of the putz house enthusiasts that have added to our knowledge of our hobby. From Papa Ted, our very own LES, Kathi Mac (The Tuscan Collection), Tom Hull, Antoinette Stockenberg and Paul Race. As well as many more individual. This book wouldn't be possible with their contributions.

This is the 14th book in my series of putz house collectible guides. I have also added 3 booklet with the subjects being rare and hard to fine houses. The titles are "The Pagodas", The Extended Chimney Houses", and "The Dark Castles". I will be adding 2 more booklets soon... "The Boulder Houses" and "The Santa Window Haciendas".

On top of all that I have produced Putz House Calendars for the years 2024, 2025 and soon to be complete 2026. I am always in the market for other peoples pictures of their putz scenes to add to the picture pages of the calendars.

All my books, calendars and booklets are for sale. If you know me you know that I put 100 percent of the money I make back into our hobby. The monies go for new publications or refurbishing publications or replacement products.

With these projects coming to fruition I can now get back to posting on cardboardchristmas more often.

Here are the titles of the 13 books on collecting putz houses. There are 2 more books in the works... "The Collector's Guide to Vintage Putz Houses Sets" and "More Fancy Coconuts". By the way; I need help deciding if I should go with the Blue Cover History Book or the Orange Cover? Hope to hear from my fellow collectors...
