2025 Ten Cent City Tinsel Tree Castle
Greetings to all!
With October upon us, it is time to introduce a new project for Ten Cent City. After some time away from focusing on Ten Cent City, I am excited to share my latest creation, which joins the many patterns I have posted in the past.
I have always had an enthusiasm for castles and have crafted several over the years. However, this model stands out due to its compact size—the overall height is just about 4 inches, and it is designed to rest perfectly on the Ten Cent City base measuring 2 inches by 4 inches.
The design is a freelance interpretation, rather than a reproduction of a specific vintage castle. Despite this, I believe it successfully captures the characteristic look and architectural essence of a classic castle.
If you prefer not to cut scalloped edges for the top of the castle, there is an alternative pattern featuring square parapet cutouts. Additionally, you can use ordinary pinking shears to achieve a decorative top edge detail.
The pattern is provided in the PDF located below the photos. A picture of the finished castle will be posted later.

UPDATE...10/09/2025
The Ten Cent City Tinsel Tree Castle is finished. And I'm not second guessing my choice of color and the coarse texture of the sand. Stay tuned for more Ten Cent City houses in the future.

A Cozy “Loggie” for Ten Cent City
Greetings to all,
Introduction
This project represents simplicity and straightforward construction, making it an ideal choice for anyone interested in creating a charming addition to Ten Cent City.
Materials and Construction
The walls are crafted from cereal box cardboard. Single face scrapbooking paper is then glued onto the cardboard to represent logs. In selected areas, portions of the single face are removed to create smooth surfaces, ensuring optimal adhesion when assembling the structure. The pattern sheet is in the PDF below.
Surface Detailing
For added visual interest, a small amount of sand was applied to the walls and chimney using Mod Podge. This technique introduces subtle texture and depth, enhancing the overall appearance.
Finishing Touches and Inspiration
To complete the project, reference photos are below to guide you through the process. Additionally, there are dozens of Ten Cent City houses that can also serve as information for finishing details like the windows, door, roof, base and bumpy tinsel tree.
Upcoming Projects
A few new houses are currently being developed for this series, so stay tuned for future updates.
