Bottle Brush Trees

Where do you get the materials and tools you use to build or restore putz houses, lufa trees, etc.?

Bottle Brush Trees

Post by Lee »

Good morning everyone,
Yesterday I was at a local antique mall and came across a mother lode of bottle brush trees. There was a large container full of packaged bottle brush trees... 21 trees in each package with 2 eight inch, 2 six inch, 4 four inch and 13 2 1/2 inch trees. Each package was only $6.00! I purchased three immediately.
There might be as many as ten more packages there. I am thinking about going back and getting the rest of them... Is this a good price?

lee...the trees are similar to ones sold by home depot...and probably a few other retailers...$6.00 is a great deal...if you cost average...that's less than 29-cents a tree...excellent value!...buy 'em...

my very best regards...howard...

Hi Lee,

As Howard notes, the trees are not vintage and can be found at any craft store. That said, a large putz display looks even better with LOTS of trees... so grab 'em and have fun!

Howard and Barb,
On the back of the label it did say Home Depot but I am sure that they are sold for more than 6.00 per package. I know they are not vintage but I can use them in a display or else use the smaller ones if I make some houses from scratch... I know the luffa trees are authentic for the older houses but I remember these bottle brush trees from my childhood so I suppose I am more comfortable with those... What I love about these houses are that there doesn't seem to be a right or wrong way to do them... Lots of room for artistic license... !!!
