Re: cottage with craftcutter silver paper mullions...
greetings to all...
here it is...after two coats of white primer, i went with a fine grain, craft sand finish followed by a couple of coats of paint...even tried a yellow snow base...something new for me...i'm trying to use a wider range of colors...thank goodness there are no rules...
still may add a little snow detail to the lower edge of the roof...might not put on any mica/glitter highlights...i kind of like this on the way it is...
when i do a house with blue windows again i will probably use a darker blue acetate or use a double layer...the blue i had wasn't dense enough and was almost washed out by my test light...
my very best regards...

Re: cottage with craftcutter silver paper mullions...
GREAT PROJECT, Howard! Thanks for sharing. Don't eat the yellow snow, though.
Re: cottage with craftcutter silver paper mullions...
right...don't eat yellow snow...one of my children already reminded me just yesterday...
for years and years i watched both the william alexander and bob ross painting programs on pbs...i learned alot from them, too...their only rule...that i can remember...no yellow or green snow...you can bet one of my next houses will have a green base...

Great work Howard......Beautiful house!
Re: cottage with craftcutter silver paper mullions...
Gee, Howard, I used to watch Jon Gnagy, so I must be even older than you.
Nothing "stuck," though.
Re: cottage with craftcutter silver paper mullions...
Looks great Howard! Love the bright colors and blue windows!
Re: cottage with craftcutter silver paper mullions...
I remember the Bob Ross show but how did you get the intensely bright yellow? Did you use lemon Jello?
That's the brightest "Yellow" snow that I ever saw!
FYI the Japanese in the 1930's had a number of lime green bases to their houses - they were sandy's and usually earlier paper label fuzzy window types but I have had some Hacienda types that I call the "Pastel Haciendas" with a similar lime green "yard". Hard to get ahead of those old Japanese! tkh
