Looking for forum ideas, moderators.

Post by paulrace »

Since I'm just starting these forums, I'm open to suggestions about topic areas, etc. I'm also looking for folks who know something about these hobbies to moderate some of the forums. If you have been working with, collecting, or studying this hobby for a while and would like to start a forum to share what you know, or if you would just like to "hang around" and wouldn't mind keeping an eye on things, please let me know,

paul...good evening to you and all forum members...

i personally want to thank you for all the time and talent you have devoted to this new project...only good things can come from this "one-stop" site...what a resource it will become for collectors, historians, restorers and makers...perhaps together we can all convert some of the ceramic house folks over to the cardboard side...

my very best regards...

Howard

CONGRATULATIONS!! Definitely an idea whose time has come. Something I would love to see is a space dedicated to patterns , all in one easy to access spot & printable. I've been making modified versions of Howards putzes as well as Papa Ted's. I'm a little "scale challenged" so I would really appreciate more patterns. Also some good fence patterns. Thanks again for this...linzertorte

I think I'd second "linzertorte" request.

I'd love to see more patterns. Like Howard so awesomely puts together.
The PDF's make easy to get going on a new house.

I'm an engineer, but an electrical Engineer. I have problems w/ measurement and scale, ect.
But I can follow plans and templates really easy.

For example:

From the company I posted in another topic.

I'd love to see a pattern made up like Howard does, So us measurement challenged folks
could make something similar.

My suggestion is for a forum (?) where new members like me can write a paragraph describing themselves, their putz interest and experience, etc. I've seen a few posts of people introducing themselves, and I like the idea, but it would be great to have one forum where I could return to look up someone doing something interesting, or in my city or state, etc. I love the site, and am working my way through every post.

Nan, in response to your request, and the fact that it was a VERY good idea, I've started a "who am i" forum for people to tell a bit about themselves.
