cutting window and door openings...

Ordered the same cutter in an 8 1/2" length. It arrived today and works like a charm!

Wonderful, so true to the original. I had been looking at paper punch edgers to see if there were any that produced this effect but nothing, nada. Nice to know we now have an option.

Are you rapping it with a mallet or are you placing it in some kind of an arbor press.

I did buy an arbor press at Harbor Freight for not much money, and it worked ok on the smaller cutter once you get past all the grease. What I discovered though is it seems faster and cleaner to just use a hammer and a special pounding surface board (there is a real name for that I'm sure...) like you would use with an arch punch. A problem with the smaller cutter is lining it up correctly to make a continuous strip.. which is what led me to bite the bullet and buy a longer one.

If anyone out there is more mechanically/artistically inclined than I and wishes to purchase the small cutter for what I paid for it, let me know.

What did you need to submit to the Etsy store to get a die made.
Is the company easy to deal with. And good with the communications?

I submitted a jpg of the cutter shape with a scale of inches so that they could get the correct height, width, etc. They could not be more pleasant/easier to deal with. Every time I emailed them I got a response the same day. After I sent the jpg they send a proof, and once approved, an invoice that you can pay using paypal, etc. Various shipping options, I chose the slow boat which still arrived within 8-10 days. According to the postage on it they pay a heck of a lot more to ship than they charge. They ship registered which requires a signature at delivery which is the only nuisance. My mailman was nice enuf to leave the pkg based on a note on the door, but I hear they don't all do that.
