I just finished my first Candy Box house, Ted’s April 2006 house of the month. The house measures 3 ½” long by 3” wide and is 6 5/8” to the top of the tower. I made the brick paper from an Excel spreadsheet, the house is a bit darker than the tower, and then I “antique” it a bit The door is a stick-on from Pete, trimmed with a piece of chenille yarn I dyed. The roof and the tower peak is covered with cotton batting and then sprinkled with mica flacks. The tree is 2 bottle brush trees, bleached, trimmed to make the skinny branches and then painted, after I finished it was hard to believe how they started out. The two trees are joined with floral tape and then inserted them in a hole in front on the house.
The little Santa on the roof started out as a wire body wrapped in cotton batting. I used some glue on the arms and legs, not sure if this is how the originals where made but it seemed to work out. I made the face/beard/hat is all one piece made from Sculpey. Both Santa’s suit and bag are crepe paper over cotton batting. Sorry if this is to much info and to many pictures…

Re: Candy Box
Lynn: WOW. Thanks for keeping a detailed photographic record. This is exactly the kind of thing we need, and it gets folks who are new to the hobby thinking, "I could do that!"
For those who haven't seen the original, Ted didn't learn until later how to make little pictures link to big pictures, so the original photos are kind of small. Here's one that shows most of the house:
