Quickie Trees for putz background

What kind of figures have been used with cardboard Christmas houses and villages, where do you get appropriate figures today, how do you make, prepair, repair or otherwise maintain figures?

Quickie Trees for putz background

Post by Tom Hull »

This is just a quickie. Sometimes I get tired of just a bunch of bottle brush trees and this is a simple readily available idea. I just broke off some twigs and put them in a bunch and wrapped some string around them and set them in the background where they were held up by the wall. You can also use the same idea with floral clay. I like the barren wintery look of it.

Tom...

I also like the look of natural materials...their random colors...the size and direction of little branches...you just can't buy or make anything that comes close...

Paul has mentioned something about spray painting pine cones green and using them like trees...I've never tried it...but just might...Have you ever done this?...

A combination of dried twigs, green pine cones and bottle brushes really would add a lot of visual interest...like you mentioned...too many bottle brush trees can get pretty boring...

My very best regards...Howard...

Tom, thank for posting. IMHO, this sort of thing works really well for nativity displays.
