maria...

thank you for posting this magnificent castle...i can tell a lot by the image you enlarged...just wish i had a few more views...

by the way...i believe the row of trees behind the castle and to the left are all "flatties"...imagine that...

i've got to stop looking at the castle...the last thing i need i a major project!...

my very best regards...howard...

Wow, this castle is just magnificant, and although I am not a doll collector, I like the fact that small dolls were incorporated into the scene.

How much fun it would be to see high resolution pics of that display, but we know that didn't exist then. The display is an incredible compilation of so many toys. The cars are wonderful even though I can't identify them. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Maria, Thanks for the posting. Yes, it is impressive. But it needn't be a HUGE project for anyone who wants to replicate the effect. My guess is that the big part is essentially a cardboard box with brick paper wrapped around it and doors hacked out with a knife, then store-bought fencing, etc., attached to it. That kind of brick paper was used to make fake fireplaces in apartment buildings, etc., so it was widely available. The addition of all the details, including very nice super-putz that IS a legitimate building makes the whole thing seem so impressive.

Still, it's quite an inspiration.
