Very nice and detailed Howard! Can't wait to see the finished product. Do you "sew" the raffia fence together with a sewing machine? Oh, and BTW, where do you find that raffia anyway? Thanks in advance for your answer.
Cheers,
Will

Here's a link to the jig I use to make raffia fence...HOWEVER...some creative forum members use methods they've developed...I'll see if I can find their posts later and pass them on to you...Will wrote:Very nice and detailed Howard! My source for raffia is Hobby Lobby...the last time I was in there they had three choices...natural, light green and a muted brown...
As for stitching...I punch holes about 1/8" apart thru the raffia and the cardboard and stitch by hand with a needle and dental floss...sounds crazy...but it works for me...
i've just about finished the house...hope to post some pictures on Sunday...
Howard...

Hello Howard! I love this lovely little house (I love them all)! I am wondering if the patterns for the balcony, and fence posts are available. I can't wait to make this this new little gem. I am new to this forum and have been enjoying it since May 2015. Thank you for so generously posting patterns and advice!
Re: may 2004 HOM..."little glitter house" version...
Denise...hello...yes...I will post a sketch of the balcon and posts...but you may have to make minor adjustments to fit your house...but I'm sure it's something you can do...please note...it may be a day or so before I can posy...my very best regards...Howard...

Re: may 2004 HOM..."little glitter house" version...
denise...good morning...
here are patterns for the fence posts, caps and balcony railing...
note...the length of the balcony railing (excluding the 3/8" tabs on each side) may have to be made longer or shorter depending on the actual balcony ceiling you made...
i would suggest you do a "cut and fit test" balcony out of manila folder first...then transfer the measurements to your cardboard...then cut out the opening slots...you may also have to adjust the space between the openings or the size of the openings to get the look you want...
let me know if you need any other information...
my very best regards...howard...
