Greetings to all…
It’s almost a new month and time for another new project…this time I’ve chosen the October 2000 House of the Month on Ted’s site…
Here’s the link…just scroll down to October… http://www.cardboardchristmas.com/papateds/Hom2000.html
You'll also find a picture of the vintage original in the post immediately after the patterns...
My version will slightly smaller…overall height, including the 4” x 6” x 3/4” thick base, will be 4 1/2“…
Patterns are below…photos of the construction will follow...
My very best regards…Howard…

starting to take shape...the blue painter's tape is just temporary to hold the roof peak glue joint in place until the glue dries...the step is 1/4" x 1/4" craft wood cut to fit between the towers...more pictures later...

Re: october 2000 hom...little glitter house version...
Howard, do you need red foil punch-out windows for this or are you going to use your standard mylar-and-striping-tape solution?
Re: october 2000 hom...little glitter house version...
Since they are not a "standard size" (if there ever was onepaulrace wrote:Howard, do you need red foil punch-out windows for this or are you going to use your standard mylar-and-striping-tape solution?

Re: october 2000 hom...little glitter house version...
Beautiful. Great choice of a house as well. Was it hard to glue down those curved roofs? Did you use your "third hand" device to glue them down? I really like the way you did the under roof. I'm sure that add much more support. Thank you for showing the process. Lucy
Re: october 2000 hom...little glitter house version...
gluing the roof in place was done in steps after i made sure the scores were in the right places...the center roof (with the curved porch projection) was glued in place first and allowed to dry...then i did one section of roof at a time and let dry thoroughly before going on to the next...it helps to pre-curve the roof sections by rolling them over a round object first...(i used a prescription bottle)...i didn't use the "third hand" thing this time...but i do use a lot of blue painter's tape to hold things while they dry...i hope this helps...howard...Lucy wrote:Beautiful.
