making a "farmer and cow" flattie...

What kind of figures have been used with cardboard Christmas houses and villages, where do you get appropriate figures today, how do you make, prepair, repair or otherwise maintain figures?

making a "farmer and cow" flattie...

Post by Howard »

Greetings to all…

Yes…another “flattie”…this time a “farmer and cow” inspired by the English Staffordshire figurine in the first picture below…

This “flattie” will be made like the others I’ve posted this year…but I will cut out the “farmer” and “cow” separately…then overlap and glue them together after painting…

Patterns and some details are below…more pictures later…

My very best regards…Howard…

Note…this will probably be the last “flattie” I’ll make this year…but I have plans next year to start a series of “Nativity” pieces…including a small twig and straw stable…

I was wondering what you were going to use the farmer and cow flattie for. You did a great job. Layering those little tiny pieces must be a challenge. I really appreciate seeing the design process as well.

As always, great job Howard. Did you layer the legs as well? It looks as so. Yes-- by all means, build a barn for that bovine please! :)

legs of the cow not layered...the two legs farthest away were painted in darker, shadow colors...only the head and tail are layered...yes...barn is in the works...basically a remake of the ones i've done in the past...here's the link... http://www.bigindoortrains.com/primer/b ... n_silo.htm
