2015 FRENCH PUTZ

Please use this forum for photos of your putz villages - some of you don't make your own houses, but you still display a lot of artistry when you combine and arrange them. And the rest of us would love to see your work. Again, it works best if you resize your photos to 800px wide or less before you upload them - Paul

2015 FRENCH PUTZ

Post by maria »

I love doing themed trees and villages...

Normally these houses would be seen with my three foot tall tinsel silver tree--but Paris this year made me a little maudlin--and I couldn't bear to bring out the tree, opting instead for resin trees I found at an after-Christmas sale at Kohl's one year. I'll try to get a shot later with all this lit, including Karl Fey's blue castle--they're making battery operated LEDs now on ultra-thin wire and I was able to discreetly thread them unseen through a lower window. I highly recommend these lights if you have a space without a plug. The lamppost was found at Home Depot for a song and lights as well. By the way, the blue castle by Fey is a repro--albeit in a custom color scheme I wanted--of a very early 30's putz. I've pulled out another pix for you to see from the archives and posted it as well. The display is beautiful. I love the castles and the Marie Antionette ornaments all mixed in with your vintage figures. It's wonderful.

Very fun Maria. Looks like you have a nice collection of great buildings by Karl and Howard.

Thank you - I had great fun making those ornaments. And sold dozens too to a shop in New Jersey--which was also an added bonus!
