More Laura houses

I've finished two more of the houses in the Little House series (Laura Ingalls Wilder's books of life in midwest in the late 19th century). Almanzo's Barn is from "Farmer Boy," the second book in the series; Almanzo Wilder grew up on a large farm in New York state and later became Laura's husband. The design is almost pure Howard Lamey, however, from his wonderful barn shown elsewhere on this site. Then there are two views of Pa's Store, adapted from "The Long Winter," in which Laura's family had to live in an empty store building her father had built in town, since they couldn't survive the severity of the 9-month-long winter of blizzards had they remained on their claim. The front of the building shows the store front; the door on the side toward the back is the family's entrance.

nan...your "luffah" trees are perfect!...real twig trunks and red berries...so "authentic"...

Thanks, everyone, for your kind comments. Howard, I kept referring back to your web site to check how the trees really should look! I'm glad you like them. Buying the lufa from the source you recommended was a real life-saver. Even on Amazon they were much more expensive for little chunks of lufa. And having 10 whole lufa gave me the freedom to experiment with the technique without fear of endangering my entire supply!
