Painting Pete's figurines

What kind of figures have been used with cardboard Christmas houses and villages, where do you get appropriate figures today, how do you make, prepair, repair or otherwise maintain figures?

Painting Pete's figurines

Post by BrianB »

Hello everybody!!

I recently received a package from my good friend Pete with all the figurines he is currently offering!! Let me tell you these are awesome!! Not just because he has captured every detail of the originals and they are awesomely packaged either. Or because they are really durable little figures...which they are. For those of us with limited funds that might never own an original house with all these different figures...it was so hard to comprehend(at least for me) the actual size of each figurine!! Many are WAY smaller than I had thought them to be, while others are fairly large. It really put some sizing questions I had to rest and gave a level of authenticity to my new house that I'm super excited about!!

So far I have only painted the little terrier dog, but I wanted to start this new thread for a place to post close up pics of each one as I go. Also I would love to see everybody else's pics and paint jobs on his figures, so feel free to post them here too if you want!!!!

For the dog I hit it with 3 coats of white acrylic to get that chalky bisque look. Then I bought a cheap set of fine bristle brushes from Ross Dress for less of all places. They were $3!! I used a medium fine brush for the collar and a super fine brush for the mouth and eyes.

You can order from Pete here.... oehmen@sbcglobal.net

Thanks
-Brian
