Making a "Milkmaid" flattie....

What kind of figures have been used with cardboard Christmas houses and villages, where do you get appropriate figures today, how do you make, prepair, repair or otherwise maintain figures?

Making a "Milkmaid" flattie....

Post by Howard »

greetings to all...

here we go again...why so many "flatties"?...i've found it takes a lot of these little figures to fill up a village!...they're fun to make as well...

i think i can see her all done up in blue, pink and cream...possibly a little grey...how about a straw colored bonnet?...i'll probably end up using thread for the chains that support the two milk pails...

construction details and photos later...

howard...

greetings to all...

finished this "flattie" project over the weekend...

just a couple of notes...the pix with the "flattie" in the clamp shows the sewing thread tied to the wire bucket handles, strung thru the hands and then over and around the yoke...it's held in place with epoxy cement...as soon as the epoxy cured, i cut off the excess...

now...back to a little house project...(or two)...

my very best regards...

howard...

Wow Howard, she is gorgeous. Love the "strings" on the buckets she's holding.

It does not look like an easy task to add strings without them getting floppy. Great idea.
