I think Cotton batting is probably the way to go like Howard posted. It's been several years since I restored this house, almost ten
but I think I took cotton balls or cotton pads and felted them together, then this part I remember very clearly...I sprayed them with water and then ironed them out. Then I used Aileens craft glue and glued them on. After the glue dried I fluffed up the cotton a bit.

I was looking for something in older forum posts and ran across this...it had slipped my mind...but have always wanted to try the product to make a "cotton topper"...
Believe me...there is nothing wrong with the cotton batting method...but this item from Walgreens looks interesting...too bad it's only available on line thru them...hate to order something so small and pay so much for postage and handling...

The next time I'm in CVS or Walmart I'm going to see if they have...
I imagine I can get the same look as the Walgreens cotton by using an additional layer of batting...ma have to try it soon...
