doing something a little different this time...i'm sprinkling on the sand (actually it's birdcage gravel) over white glue...(just like applying glitter or mica flakes)...however...i'm applying the sand/glue directly onto the raw cardboard...then adding the primer and paint...the primer and finish coats of paint really seal the sand to the surface...and i don't notice as many (if any) granules flaking off...Howard...

Good thinking Howard anything to stop the finishing product from flaking off.

after many, many hours..."Upton Hall Abbey" is finished...i'll let the pictures tell the story...except for a couple of notes...

i want to add a flag of some kind to the top of the center tower...may add a pair of black iron wall lamps by the front door...

you can't see the roof in these pictures...but it's a very dark green...

now...it's time to take a few days off before starting another project...much smaller and simpler of course...
