Maria, I didn't have any plans to sell them. I'm going to keep working on the "Fair Set" till I have them all done first. But maybe after that I might make one or two to sell, just to pay for some supplies to make more. My daughter just asked me last night if she could have a village in her room this year, so I may have to do a few for her first. She promised me she wouldn't poke the doors and windows out!!!

Well, I bet most everybody is in bed? It's about 10:30 west coast time so I hope everybody in the Midwest and East are having pleasant dreams!

I just finished the construction on the "Rainbow" or "Martha Stewart" house. Glue still wet! It is all ready for primer. I'm hoping to give it a spray tomorrow. Then I'm pausing for the next day or so because I'm printing a new batch of Red/Blue Cel windows. Tom and I were able to work out the dimensions for another window never perviously made. It is a larger version of the Cel-9 that Kathi/Ted created and Pete is now selling. We are calling it 9L (L is for Large It came on Blue Cellophane as well as Red. I just got the screen all made tonight. Then I will be shipping off a batch to Pete for anybody who is interested in purchasing them. He is currently working on sell sheets, and I'm sure he will let everybody know just as soon as he is ready to sell them.

You mentioned spray primer.

What type do you use.

Is it latex??

Steve, the primer I use is a Rustoleum Flat white Spray paint I got at Home Depot. It's the type that is suppose to be like 2 coats with one hit. However, I still hit once, let it dry, and hit it again. I've made a few houses without using the primer, but I find when I apply the craft paint sometimes the cardboard absorbs the water and bends or puckers. It does it a tiny bit even with the primer, but it always dries back to it's original shape.
I wouldn't mind experimenting with different brands at some point, just to see if any seal the cardboard better.
I know Howard primes his houses, maybe he'll chime in on what type he uses too.

Regarding primers...

I've used just about everything you can think of...flat white wall paint...netural color wall paint leftovers...gray spray primer and flat white spray paint...even some top name brand primers...

The main purpose of a primer is to seal a surface and provide a clean, uniform surface before final finish coats are applied...

I guess the most important thing is to prime before painting...regardless of the type and brand...

I've been really busy so I haven't got much done on the rainbow/martha stewart house other than the base is covered in coco. Pete is making me some more coco for the blue and purple. In the meantime I did start a pattern for the next house and I made a label like the paper label houses. I scanned in an original label and recreated it. I know the paper labels didn't go on the bottom of the fair set, but it was easier than making a stamp. Can't wait to start putting them on the bottom of all the houses I make!
