Well, it's official--I am now hooked on A REAL TRAIN--and not the battery operated ones I used to use--I have the Polar express--more on that another day--this year I tried to use as many of my houses as possible and had to go "across the room"...close-ups and night shots coming soon; thank you all -- including Karl Fey and Howard Lamey--for making my putz village so very special--and to a certain someone for my train

So it's unanimous, Maria. We all want to see closeups of your charming
tree/village/train scene. Happy holidays, all!

Hopefully today. I have to set up the tripod to photograph it lit.
I also want to say thank you all for your inspiration throughout the year. Though I don't get to try everything I'd like to do, it's fun to sometimes just make plans.
I have already decided to turn the track the other way next year!
Every year--as I crawl around the floor to do this tree--and then inevitably pull out the vacuum to remove the dust bunnies lurking unseen most of the year(!), I say to myself--this is going to have to be the last year! And every year, somehow, some way, I find a way to do it. What a joy it is to be in the company of people who understand the addiction of vintage holidays and putz houses!

What do the puppies think about the train?

Rocky is segregated to the top floor of the house--that's his choice--he's three now and will come down only one flight of stairs voluntarily--and that's the one's that lead to the garage where he is harnessed and taken out for walks--we think he is a "little slow-witted"--the other stairs terrify him to the family room
However Java the old pug and Lacey go where they want (they laugh at my gate) and at first were quite unhappy about the train--but could now care less...

Close-ups - it was easier to make an album than re-size and post here
