Good Sunday all. I just got through building a SouthWestern-style mission church. Now, I tried something I wasn't actually planning on doing, but did-- I used my tan colored coconut to cover it. I am still debating if this was a good idea, but it IS different. Please let me know what you think of my decision on this.. Yea, or Nay? Thanks...

Yes, the loofah cactus with the berry on top is wonderful. I think the tan-colored coconut is perfect as well.

Thanks all so far for your comments. I was going to actually texture it, but thought I would try this out since I made a batch of this coconut color. The little "tumbleweed" is scrap of a luffah I bought, or that's what I wanted it to emulate! As for the cactus, that's Howard's little "bush/tree hack" made of dollar tree green scrubby pad. You just need a sharp pair of scissors for that. The berry represents the cactus flowers you see on top of them in real life, and what do you know-- it looked just right! Thanks again all...

Thanx Paul. It was my 1st building of this style. The window patterns were my own that I created using a drawing program. It took me FOREVER to make them, but it was fun! Will, nice work!!! Love the loofah cactus too! You're building some sweet houses!

This reminds me of Idaho's oldest building. The Cataldo Mission... settled in 1842 by Jesuit Missionaries.
It is still standing today, and has been restored, along with other outbuildings and a cemetary.
It is a must see if you are ever up in North Idaho!
