P.S. : BTW, I had a "dream" of you ( a "real" human version of your avatar. I dunno how my mind put that together, but it did!) early this morning. My 2 little boys & I had visited your home and saw your model trains and all of your builds. You were just about to show us more of your set-up, but-- my wife "nudged" me and woke me up. I guess like the ol' saying goes: All good things (dreams included) must come to an end!...

making a little progress...here are the pieces cut out and ready to assemble...the "layered" parts are the hat brim, mailbag with strap and left arm...the wood braces are pieces of large kitchen matches...the oval shape base is a double thickness of cardboard...

i've added two back braces made from small paperclip wire...i'll post that photo later after the glue dries...the legs and arm holding the letter are too fragile not to have braces...

this project is headed for the paint shop later today...i may refine the profile a little with a few knife cuts...note the small paperclip wire back braces...his legs, arm holding the letter and neck were just too fragile and need to be reinforced...the wire on his legs goes through the base into two small holes...so all the pieces are really tied together...

the last picture is of the small "pen vise and drill bits" i bought off of amazon...i used it to drill the small holes through the base for the wire...it was less than $8 including shipping from china...

NOTE...like always, there some negative product reviews...but mine arrived 100% perfect and works just like it should...no manufacturing flaws, etc...ALSO NOTE that the price is lower than when I purchased mine...

i do see a few refining cuts i wish i had made on his hat and legs...perhaps i'll make another and take care of those details...
