EASY WINDOW AND DOOR REPLACEMENT TRICK

Hello Fellow Enthusiasts, After years and years of fumbling, dropping, cussing and swearing when trying to simple replace a door or window in my old putz houses I thought I'd try and think through this problem. My first solution was easy... RIP THE HOUSE OFF THE BASE! It worked, but then I had to develop a lot of techniques to repair the seams were I had to glue the house back to it's base. That was all to time intensive. I knew there had to be a simpler way! After looking at the first photo can you tell what you're looking at?

Yep... Sometimes the simplest and easiest solutions are right in front of us. A special suction cup and a surgical hose is all that's needed. All you have to do is get your door or window inside the house, through the back hole, and line it up the best you can. Place the hose in you mouth with the suction foot at the other end. Insert the house with the suction cup through the door or window opening. Place the suction cup on the replacement door or window and suck. (Of course before this move you have already glued the inside wall for fastening the piece). You can now spin and pull your door or window up to the opening. When you have lined up pull up to the hole. Don't pull to hard, you don't want to brake the suction. You can now push your finger against the replacement door or window to help seat the piece into the glue. DONE... Paper is more porous that the mylar Cels so all I did was to very lightly spray, from a distance, a light mist of 3M 77 Spray adhesive on the underside of the suction cup, just enough to make it sticky. Then use the same techniques as before, keep the vacuum going. For smaller openings you can trim the suction cup. Enjoy, I think my hair is growing back.

They kinda look like the ones my dad used in his print shop for paper feed on one of his presses.

Hello Steve, Remember what I do for a living? I own a print shop. Those are the suction feet off my Mutli 1250. I buy them my the dozen. Need some?
