Hey All,

Wasn't sure where to start a thread to post what I'm up to. If this isn't it, my apologies and if I haven't thank you personally for the warm welcome, Thank You.

Howard - Thank you for sharing the patterns, my son and I are having a blast building them. My glasses finally arrived and we will be giving some flatties a try this weekend hopefully.

Paul - I think I re-sized them properly

Anyway, here's what I was able to finish this weekend before all hell broke loose here in Vegas.

Steve...

you have it all figured out!...and I'm sure your flatties will be crafted with the same care and attention to detail!...

Try this as your first flattie project...it covers all the steps...

The houses are beautiful. Great colors, too.

Creativity is, in itself, a positive approach to the world - something we all need. You and your son are clearly doing that.

Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, Howard. That is the one we will start with. I do have a question, if you don't mind. The "cardboard hairs" how do you remove them? I've tried: Sharp blade - Not bad. Sanding stick - Mixed results. Used a cigarette lighter to burn them - Seemed to be the easiest.

Appreciate the prayer. You're not alone there.

Steve...

About the "cardboard hairs"...I usually try to "burnish" them off after the primer coats...the primer makes them stiffer so they burnish or sand off easily...fingernail emery board, fine sandpaper and the round shaft of a small screwdriver are my first choices...

I have never tried the lighter method...

outstanding job on the houses!...so good to see the patterns being used!...I know Lynn fells the same way!...(she's the source of the original three peak purple house pattern...part of the extensive dolly house pattern series posted here on the forum...Laurie also contributed to the dolly series by the way)...

I really like the orange bay window house...don't remember if i've ever done a non-Halloween house that color...but you can bet I'm goinna...

Regarding the synagogue...I made a rabbi flattie as well...I'll post a pix of it soon...

My very best regards...
