Lighting your houses

Post by PutzinVT »

Hi:

I've been trying to figure this out for awhile.

Been only building house for a few seasons.

I currently am using the light holder that one uses for the ceramic house like Dept 56.
The ones with the metal clip you squeeze to place them in the hole.

I've been using white C5 LED's Screwed in to the socket as they do not get hot.

My problem is that with the cardboard, the metal clips tears up the light buld hole.

I've was wondering what other people are using to avoid tearing up the houses.

I "soften" the clips by wrapping them in electrical tape when I use those stand alone rigs.

I use them all the time and don't have a problem BUT I only put them in a little and don't try to use the spring clip. If you do that you WILL tear them up. The bulb only needs to project a little way in to work. Tom
