Greetings to all…

It’s May…and time for a new project…this one is my version of a “Loggie” I saw on the internet…the photo is under copyright so I can’t post it…but I can tell you that my version is very close to the vintage original…just smaller…

There’s nothing different about making this “Loggie” that hasn’t been covered multiple times before…so I’ll let the photos and patterns tell the story…but I will add some notes when I post the picture of the finished piece…stay tuned…

Howard…

Thanks for the plans, Howard; a terrific project...looking forward to seeing this one when complete. I didn’t realize the technique has the corrugated pasted over a flat cardboard structure. A bit of work I presume to assure alignment of openings (Windows and doors).

I know I’ve mentioned this before, but these “loggies” have me recalling my childhood Marx “Fort Apache” playset and it’s stockade motif.

You’re right about the orientating the window and door openings with the shallow level of the flutes…it makes cutting the openings much easier…

Update...5/11/2024...

Another project is finished...I put a hint of birdcage gravel in the light blue and kings' gold craft paint to add a little surface interest...there is also a blush of fine glitter dusted on a few areas...the bricks on the chimney are a few brush strokes of earth and brick color craft paint to simulate individual bricks...they were applied on the "Heritage Brick" color paint that covers the entire chimney...

Stay tuned for another project to be posted in a few weeks...

Looks terrific, Howard; that's a great little house for the collection. I like the "softer" look of your snow-cover...I'm looking to change up my overly precise method and try something that looks a bit more realistic. I'd like a result similar to yours.

Mr. Howard, I just LOVE that snow texture sir! Could you please kindly explain how you did that? I would love to emulate it on my next project myself. Thanks in advance!

Hello, Clinton and all Cardboard Christmas Forum followers......
There's no "Top Secret" recipe for the roof snow detail :D ...it's just two heavy layers of a blend of craft store glitter with some mica flakes applied with white glue over the white painted area on the roof peak...but I do randomly dabble the white glue outside of the white painted areas so there is not a hard edge to the glitter and mica applications...
