Please use this forum for photos of your putz villages - some of you don't make your own houses, but you still display a lot of artistry when you combine and arrange them. And the rest of us would love to see your work. Again, it works best if you resize your photos to 800px wide or less before you upload them - Paul

This is my North Pole vignette, which gives me a chance to feature the German flats in a small setting.
Those putz houses are miniature copies of HOM's made by my sister Barbara.... they are accurate in every
detail, and the biggest one is only two inches high. I can't say enough about how awesome they are!

Here's my annual putz village in the living room fireplace .... and no matter that I never had a fire in this fireplace, had the flue cleaned twice, then blocked it with cardboard, soot keeps coming down onto the houses! Aaaarrrrgggghhhh! But the location is convenient, which is probably what they thought in Pompei, and Santa and his sleigh hang bravely off the old crane.

My sister Barbara got me interested in this hobby about 6 years ago, and it's been huge fun tracking down
the pieces and re-arranging them each year. Lighting was always a nightmare until I made a stepped platform of peg board, learned how to wire up low voltage light bulbs,and ran the wire down through the holes, under the peg board onto a transformer. Let there be light!

My latest find was a "super lakkie", placed in the first row to the left of center.... a real wowser, with
a craftsman style window on the left sidewall... Despite the lack of snow on it, it's my current fave.

so happy to see the pix with the little wooden houses!...i was fortunate to find three of this type in a thrift store just before christmas for 50-cents each...but i don't think mine are as old as yours...

just imagine..."micas" and "sandies" plus "woodies" and even a few "plastics" playing together...hope i will have time to tale and post a picture of my very mixed up village soon...wish i had a "coconut" or two to really mix it up!...

I love your village and the tiered effect is great; love the fence too.

here's another one of my villages; the White feather tree Castle putz; alas I can't get the silhouette of the knight in the window of the large castle to photograph! It was created for me by Howard Lamey; the smaller castle is one of his as well. He even made the little soldiers. The coach and horses are from the 40's; 90% of the ornaments were made by me from vintage, antique and repro Dresden scraps and other bits and pieces

made by Barb. If I had made them I would have kept them! Outstanding....
