Hello everyone

If you would like to let the rest of us know a bit about you, especially if you have any special skills or knowledge that the rest of the group might be able to draw on, that would be good. Also, if you have a blog or other web resource that's related to what we do here. . .

Hello everyone

Post by Lee »

Hello everyone,
My name is Lee and I have just recently started to be interested in these little houses. I follow a blog at retrorenovation.com that is all about mid century homes and design. Around Christmas the main editor, Kate, posted some patterns for mid-century houses based on traditional putz houses. There were links to other putz resources and I was hooked.
Anyway, I built the three designs and had a great time doing so. I hope to continue building as I keep seeing pictures of other houses and I say "I can make that one!" over and over... I am hooked.
I am posting pictures of the three houses I made.
Regards,
Lee

Cool houses! I like the orange one a lot!!! The wreath is a nice touch on the yellow one. Did you purchase the wreath somewhere or make it?

Thank you!
The wreath was in a package of 6 I got before Christmas. I think I got them at Hobby Lobby. They have a little gold hanging thread that I cut off to install on the house.

Brian, you'll have to wait until next fall to find those wreaths at a craft store. :-)

Brian,
Here is a link to a place you can purchase the miniature wreaths as well as other Christmas miniatures.

Thanks for the link Lee! I like some of the others stuff they have too! I'll have to order some. I have one Japan house that has a little wreath on it and always thought it was unique, makes me wonder if someone added it on after it found it's way to the U.S.A. Paul was probably right if I didn't order them, it would probably be lucky find in the bargain bin. :)
