More Cello Sheets Added

Our Cello Sheet page got broken. So we took the opportunity to add two more sets of sheets. If you haven't visited there yet, we provide pdf files with the common window sizes in several colors. We started with gold frames on red panes. Which look pretty cool if you print them on overhead projector film with a laser printer.

But the gold frames are lighter than the red panes, so when backlit, the gold glows brighter than the red. So we made a gold frame-only page that you could use to put behind the gold.

It was better, but the gold still glowed. So we made a black frame-only page you could put behind the gold frame-only page.

The three-layer "sandwich" looked good unlit and lit both.

Then we realized that the red on some folks inkjets wasn't dark enough - it looked funny lit. So we added a black frame on red panes that you could substitute for the black-only layer if you needed more red.

We realized as soon as we printed our first copy that this version would make a very cool halloween house window.
Of course you can experiment with different combinations to get the optimum result with your printer and media. For school craft projects and the like where money's an object, folks have just printed the basic (gold-on-red) sheets on vellum. It's not perfect, but it's similar to some of the printed "stained-glass" windows used during WWII.

However you use the things, be sure and mount them with the shiny side of the gold-on-red sheet facing out.

NEW for March, 2013.

Since we had to rebuild this page anyway, we added two more sets, for those REALLY RARE windows that are NOT gold on red. We have added silver-on-blue, which was rare, and red-on-blue, which was extremely rare. Take a look at the page now, and check back later - we will be adding to this page in the future.

As soon as we had the first set of red and gold windows we realized that folks would need a lot more of the smaller windows than they would the big ones. So we divided the windows out into different groups and made pages so you could just print, say, the small arched windows without creating additional larged arched windows that you'd never use.

Again, these are meant to be layered ("sandwiched"), so we put all three layers on each sheet.

We have added free downloads of the "Big Arched Windows," "Small Arched Windows 1," "Small Arched Windows 2," and "Square Windows" pages in gold-on-red, silver-on-blue, and gold-on-blue.

These graphics represent the "Big Arched Window" set in three different colors. you have to go the page above to download the full-page graphics.
