Happy Sunday everyone. I have started work on a craftsman style cottage... this house is larger than most at 5" wide by 4" tall. I will be making my own windows for this one. I will post more as progress proceeds.

lee...an "A" Number One Job!...the grid paper is a very professional approach...did you design the house the old, analog world way, with pencil and ruler, or do it on the computer?...keep posting pix during the construction...please!...

my very best regards...howard...

Once again, Howard and Paul, thank you for your kind words...

Howard, I am old fashioned I suppose as I use graph paper, pencil, ruler and square to draw out the patterns. I find this easier as I can move lines around to get the proportions to look right to me. I downloaded CADSTD Lite but it was beyond me. Years ago, my late wife taught auto cad on the community college level but I never took her class. Of course I wish she were still here and teaching; perhaps I would have learned something by now. We were both interested in architecture, she being an Architect and me an admirer and I always think of her when I build these houses.

give me a pencil, eraser, paper and a c-thru brand ruler and i'm a happy camper...i use a lot of tracing paper, too...actually i have an big box of legal size "onion skin"...remember that stuff?...

i've drawn with the micorsoft "paint" program...it's basic, and can do everything i will ever need and more...but i'll always be a pencil and paper jockey...

my very best regards...howard...aka...that guy still living in the middle of last century...

Here is an update on the Craftsman cottage. I have started the porch and have attached the porch supports. Also I did the foundation with the backside of paper cup insulators from a well known international coffee shop. I will be priming this and then attaching the room of the porch...
