An Irish Cottage

My Irish cottage was made for my nephew, he loves St. Patrick’s day. This was a real fun project far from my usual houses and churches. I made the roof from fake fur painted and then combed it out to give it the thatched look. I used Martha Stewart’s stucco. It comes in a jar, you just add paint and apply it with a brush. I used Sculpey to make the chimney, steps and walls and then painted. I can tell you I won’t be making stone walls for a while!! The windows are Pete’s. This is the first time I used these types of windows and, I love them. I did paint them for a matt finish, very easy to work with. They are all the same size just the openings area different size. The base courtesy of Howard (thanks Howard) is covered with sawdust and sand for the paths. The figures are from Preiser. Happy St Patrick’s Day!!

Thanks so much everyone!! The house is 5 1/2" inches wide, 2" deep and 2 1/2" high. The base is 7" X 4 1/2 and I did cut a hole in the back.
