Figures from the cake shop

What kind of figures have been used with cardboard Christmas houses and villages, where do you get appropriate figures today, how do you make, prepair, repair or otherwise maintain figures?

We have a little shop that carries everything you need to make and decorate cakes. And they have an amazing selection of little plastic figures! I got all of these for $2.68. I'll probably do some repainting before I use them.

Pretty cool. Funny, those angels look 70's to me.
