Windup trains

What trains do you use with your putzes? Do you try to match period? Color? Scale? Any other discussions regarding trains and putzes.

Windup trains

Tom Hull found a listing on eBay that brought back memories.

No, I don't want them for Christmas. but it's a reminder that folks who don't have room for a real electric train on their putz can still add some vintage toy flavor.

I was going to bid on this but alas, the best laid plans of mice and men....we had a *minor* plumbing emergency--that ended up costing more than we thought.

Sigh....wasn't meant to be but still fun to look at.

The "Lucky" locomotive was actually pretty well-proportioned. If it hadn't lost the tender and part of the smokestack, it would have made a nice display piece.

Also plumbing problems ALWAYS wind up costing more than they "should.' :-)

Sorry about that.
