Very odd ANCESTOR of the Green Spot Houses

Post by Tom Hull »

This house just popped up on eBay and is a very old one of the Paper Label family. That maker is the one that came up with the Green Spot Fuzzy Window houses but this is the type of house they made earlier. This is an all coconut house with typical and distinctive touches. The orange coconut base with splotches of white coconut to indicate snow is a touch as is the porch with a separate color (Yellow) coconut. This has the typical slot windows of their earlier products. The ONLY thing that links this house to the Green spots is the export label the maker attached. Throughout the history of this company they always had coconut even if only on the roof long after it was dropped by other companies. I even have one with an occupied Japan Stamp by this company that only had coconut on the roofs along with fuzzy windows. Neat old house and though small (all were for this company in their earliest years) the start price is not that out of line. NOTICE the pink foil roof and this company sometimes used touches of foil here and there. I have one that has a green foil covered chimney and all else is coconut (also early) Enjoy.
The reason I am posting the pictures is because in a week they will be gone.

Tom...

don't know how I missed seeing this post when it first appeared...I'm always looking for a new project...and this one may just be the inspiration I needed!...how about that trim on the porch?...could it be green icicles?...

My very best regards...Howard...
