Even though I signed up when the new forum was announced I simply haven't gotten around to posting. Christmas train layouts/gardens and putzes were not a part of my family's tradition. As a fatter of mact, I don't recall seeing anything like that at any house I ever visited when growing up so it was somewhat of an eye opener when I switched from HO scale railroading to 3-rail some years back. Then I got to know Howard Lamey who's work with glitter houses opened yet another set of eyes! Gees, I wonder how many more eyes are gonna be opened - I'm running out of 'em!! :- ) I don't put up a display every year but using Howard's excellent glitter houses I managed to get a shelf display this year (we don't have a mantel, but a rather crowded shelving unit).
