Flocking

Hello friends! Here is my first question...
I came across several bags of flocking at my local goodwill in some great colors.
Just wondering if anyone has used flocking instead of coconut or glitter....
Or if anyone has any suggestions for what to add to it...
I know when it is applied mechanically it is electrostatically charged so it stands on end and looks fuzzy.
I don't really want it to look fuzzy like a teddy bear, but i thought it might be interesting....

Does anyone have any experience with this stuff?

Hello Kathy,

In my experience, flocking is usually seen on some of the windows in the older putz houses, giving a "fuzzy window" effect. There are lots of articles about its use in this forum, you might try searching on the term and lots of things will pop up. I've used it myself when making my reproduction houses... it's not always easy to use and the results can be, well, fuzzy! Usually I would paint lines of glue over the window panes in one of Pete's cell windows, and then dip the window into a dish of flocking and flick off the excess.

Pete Oehmen sells flocked windows for house making and repair, and his are excellent with beautiful, straight lines and no little fuzzies sticking out.
