Wow! This is quite a project, and it is looking great so far. Thanks for sharing your work. Hope Irma left you and yours unscathed.

update...9/25...

here's the finished square tower...it measures 6 3/4" tall...about 1/4" taller than shown on the pattern...i'm "composing" as i work...so small changes are made from time to time...

speaking of changes...the dimensions of the plateau will be larger than the pattern i posted...the fence sections will be longer...it all has to do with the size of the tunnel entrances...more about that later...

the round tower is next...probably tomorrow...then on to the entry gate/drawbridge...

howard...

What an ambitious undertaking, Howard. But you are THE MAN for ambition and I am anxious to see it completed.

I have to say seeing the tower made me think of an old Beverley Hillbillies episode where the Clampetts went to England to visit an inherited castle. Jethro advised Ellie Mae that she could get a fellar if she played the damsel in distress in the tower. So she put on her damsel in distress uniform and "went to bellaring [bellowing]" as instructed. So, will your castle have a damsel in distress???

update...9/27...

finished the drawbridge entry gate...except for the bridge itself...that's for later...

changed the slant roof to a peak roof on the gate...also filled in the entire inside of the gate with a sandwich of layers of thin corrugated cardboard...it was just too flimsy by itself...the two little donuts are where the gate chain feeds through...

the four major parts are now finished...the plateau is next...then the base for the tunnel, both portals and the supports for the plateau...

my very best regards...

howard...

note...DCrowe...yes...going to need some figurines or "flatties" for the castle...now that i think of it...i have a collection of dollar store type knight figurines stored away in with my model train figurines...gotta dig them out...
