What a creative way to make the door! You are a sculptor with cardboard ☺

hand cut card stock window mullions...probably painted an red/orange like the vintage house...

raffia fence sections...will tone down the bright white dental floss stitching with some diluted green craft paint...

Looking good Howard!!

Are you still using the raffia fence 'jig' you posted at the following Link:

Dental floss in the sewing machine or hand sewn (which would be pretty amazing :!:

John...

Yes...using the old raffia jig...thanks for reposting...I’m sure there are other ways to make the fence...but it works for me...

The dental floss is hand stitched...it’s readily available, prewaxed and much stronger than thread...it actually goes quite fast...I draw a guide line on the cardboard and punch holes about 1/8” apart with an ice pick...and start stitching...

Do you use a plain ol' upholsterers needle when stitching the raffia together Howard?

Update...02-01-2018...

It's been very slow going on this project...but I'm starting to make progress again...here's the base that is ready for glitter as soon as the fence glue dries...

Yes...I know...the colors are very different than the original...but i couldn't do another house that was mostly a neutral gray and a light gray blue...

more later...

Thanks for providing an update on your progress Howard. Looking forward to the seeing the final product. Definitely going to try the dental floss approach to the raffia fence! :D

Update...2-9-18...

John said something like this the other day about a house project he had been working on..."FINALLY FINISHED!"...

I know that feeling!...this house has been in the works (in one way or another) since what seems like forever...

By the way...that's one of Pete's large Santa figurines in the front yard...he's just the right size for this rather large house...go here for a more about the Santa...
