Update...06/18/2023...

Another "Ten Cent City" house is finished...the brown wood siding doesn't look as drab as it did now that the snow, chimney, tree, door and windows have been added...

Greetings to all…

Just a quick thank you note to all the followers of the Tin Cent City topic…it’s approaching the 300,000 views…wow…never in my wildest dreams did I think there would be this much interest in reproductions of these little houses…

A big thank you also goes out to Paul Race for keeping the Cardboard Christmas site alive and running…I’m eternally grateful…

I hope to post a new Ten Cent City family portrait in the near future…and of course I’m always looking for inspiration for more houses…

My very best regards…

Howard…

Update…10-19-2023...The Old Red Water Mill for Ten Cent City...

Greetings to all...

Yes…there are more pieces to this latest addition to the Ten Cent City series…but the water wheel is really just two cardboard disk, eight little cardboard rectangles, a toothpick plus a small balsa wood support…see the photos below for how it goes together…

The body is basically the same as one of the houses already in the series with just a few minor dimension changes…the base is the size of all the others in the series…

I’ll post a picture of the completed mill shortly…stay tuned…

Howard…

NEW PROJECT...March 2024...Ten Cent City Bow Roof House

Just when I thought I was getting to the end of suitable Ten Cent City house candidates…this one shows up…many thanks to my friend and Forum member, Lynn…see the small photo…the pattern is in the PDF file under the bottom photo...

Instead of cutting a series of small glue tabs around the perimeter of the roof arches, I substituted pieces of corrugated cardboard as a sub roof…the chimney is a small cardboard tube about 3/8” diameter…it took a few tries to cut the radius on the chimney to get the best fit to the curved bow roof…

The rest of the construction is just like the two dozen plus houses in the series…this one will be covered with fine grain pink sand…

Stay tuned for more pictures…

Howard…
