To folks who submitted requests to sign up and never got approved, for one reason or another, I apologize. I spent countless hours over the last two years on site maintenance issues, and got way behind on signups.

At the same time, countless scammers, spammers, and trolls continue to attempt to get signed up so that they can start saying and doing nasty things after they become members. That's one reason I'm paranoid about allowing ANYONE to sign up who doesn't want me to know who they really are. By being paranoid about such things, we've managed to maintain a safe, warm, encouraging environment for our fellow hobbyists. Our members can testify that their private information has never been revealed or misused, and they are all quite glad that they can post an idea or ask a question without fear of being ridiculed, and they don't have to worry about reading anything posted here with their children or grandchildren looking over their shoulder.

If this sound like a place you'd like to visit, please use the "Registration" feature of the site and fill out all the questions honestly. I'm calling it an "Application" (even though the site software still says "registration,") because it's more like an online club than most forums. Before you apply, please think about why you actually want to belong (there's a place on the application form to explain that to us). And decide if that's important enough to take your application seriously. Due to the sheer number of fake and incomplete applications we receive, we will not think twice about deleting and permanently blocking anyone who feels like fraudulent and incomplete information is just as good as "the real thing" - whether we discover the fraud right away or find out about it later.

In the meantime, I have to confess that AS SOON AS I reopened the application form for business, I started getting fake signups. I hope I can keep things under control this time. If I can't I may have to shut down the automated form again. Again, I apologize heartily for past and present inconveniences, but I am having to decide between allowing legitimate new members to join in a timely manner or manually screening every application and entering all the data for each new member myself (not a sustainable model).

Please use this site's contact form if you have any questions. Thanks,

Paul Race

I remember a few years back when I signed up, I didn't hear anything for the longest time. I finally found Howard's email address on his "Glitter House" site and contacted him. Then through Tom Hull, and then I think Brian too, we got it done! My stubborn persistence finally paid off! LOL.. It took me almost 6 months(?) to finally become an official "CC" member! It was lengthy, but-- I understand it's a process to get the right folks to join here. Glad I was able to get through the "Paul's Door".. hehehe.. Many thanks to you sir and all who helped me to enter into this "Putzerland"... I am one happy club member! Thanks all for your kind friendships. :)

Thanks for saying thanks, guys! You would not believe the flack I get from folks who think it's too hard to sign in, but the irony is once folks with that attitude GET signed in, they don't contribute anyway. What can I say? This group is constantly pushing the state of the art in this hobby, and staying kind at the same time. I agree, I have yet to see anything like it on the Internet.
