Good evening to all…

Earlier this week, forum member Maria, posted a suggestion for a “flattie” project…and how right she was…I really couldn’t wait to start work on it since I had been looking for an “unusual subject“ for quite a while…

Below are pictures of the inspiration piece, patterns and a progress picture…I’m making good time on this “flattie”…but as usual…it has turned out to be more trying than I first thought…and that’s OK…I like small projects with complicated cutouts and lots of pieces…

You might notice that I did eliminate one of the draft horses pulling the streetcar…the rest of it is as close as I can get with cardboard…

The wheels are “in the works”…but not ready to show just yet…I’ll set the signage on the computer and have the type laser printed on card stock which will be glued into the openings below and above the windows…not shown are several back braces made from small paper clips…

Stay tuned for more…

My very best regards…

Howard…

greetings to all...

here is a picture of where this project will be for several days...possibly a week or so...until the wheels arrive...

i'm actually going to buy some 1/2" and 3/4" diameter laser cut, 12 spoke wheels... :D

the base shown is the same as all the other "flatties" i've made...a cigar shape piece of cardboard and two strips of craft wood...

stay tuned...

howard...

good morning to all...

a quick update...the 3/4" diameter laser cut wheels arrived from Karen Cary's Miniatures... http://karencary.com/ ...

i mounted them on straight pins with epoxy cement...they'll be painted separately from the rest of the piece and glued in place before the glass glitter is added to the base...

howard...

note...i have no financial connection with the vendor other than being a customer...

I'll have to say that is probably the neatest flattie I've ever seen you make Howard. Awesome job!

Lynn...I set the copy in Microsoft Word and had laser printed. It's not a perfect red color match with the craft paint...but close enough... :D

WOW !!! So just checking, you used one 1/2 inch and one 3/4 inch wheel? As opposed to two of the same size?
