Post subject:  Making "Mr. Stump"...the wood chopper "flattie"...

greetings to all...

yes...another "flattie"...this one was inspired by a vintage piece is saw on the internet...and knew i had to make one...

note that some pieces glue on the front or behind other pieces...this will help add more depth and shadows...

i'll probably add some more layering details like i always do...it's part of the composing process as i work...

progress pictures and details later...

barb...not quite finished with mr. and mrs. smith...i'm in the process of painting the details...hope to have finished mid-week...

the major parts have been cutout and are ready for assembly...some part may get additional trimming when i see how they actually fit...

the cardboard base, the two matchstick braces and the paperclip wire braces for the back are not shown...

This guy has me so worried he going to chop off his thumb!! But I love it!! :) Great idea, I have a vintage metal Manoil woodchopper and he is always a favorite in my village. I also have a metal boy holding holding wood next to him...might be a good companion piece...wink wink nudge nudge :)

Wow! I looked at some of your other flatties and am most impressed. I couldn't cut things that finely detailed if my life depended on it. Can't wait to see the final piece.

well, another "flattie", Mr. Stump" is finished...and thanks to a suggestion or two...i have plans for an accessory pieces to go along with him...more about them later...
