Greetings to all... This is the second one of Pete's cast resin reproduction figurines I painted this year...the first was his sitting terrier dog...go here for details and scroll down...https://www.cardboardchristmas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1338 In addition to the obvious traditional details...I added a round cardboard base...painted his gloves "Christmas green", sack of goodies "honey brown" and highlighted the fur with "pearl white"...he was also dipped twice in "high gloss clear Min-Wax polyacrylic"...and sugar fine glass glitter was also added to the base... I'm looking forward to painting a more of them in 2018... Merry Christmas... Howard...

Very nice Howard! Love the green gloves! The face (and the rest!) look very vintage. This Santa is going to make a nice addition to where ever you decide to use him. Pete's figurines are terrffic. Cheers! John |

John... Yes, Pete's figures are very, very nice...and i don't know of any other place to get such authentic reproductions either... I'm starting the pattern making process for a reproduction of a house on ted's site...the base will be about 6" x 9" and need a BIG Santa for the front yard...this Santa fits the bill perfectly...I'll be posting the house project in early 2018...sort of an after-Christmas tonic to perk me up when i pack the village away... Merry Christmas... Howard... |

Howard, I can't believe how well you can paint these teensy figures.. they look better than professional. Really nice job, and I look forward to seeing more of them. |

Howard - a 6x9 base is on the large side! Will look forward to seeing the project! On a somewhat related note, your build of the Nov 2003 HOM has inspired me! viewtopic.php?f=2&t=922 I started roughing out my own version this past week. Your method of creating the recessed porch is genius - not sure my apprroach would have been so elegant. I'll post pics along the way also. Merry Christmas! John |
