greetings to all...

starting 2019 with a "flatties" project that will probably take several months to complete...

first...a Santa "flattie"...see the pattern and photos below...a lot of explanation is not really needed since i've covered the techniques in previous posts...

second...elves...hopefully lots of them...patterns and photos will be posted later...once i decide on their height in relation to the Santa "flattie" that's larger than i usually make...

my very best regards...

Howard...

Howard I love the carving details you added to this piece. This is going to add a whole new dimension to your flattied.

don't laugh too loud when i tell you those "incised marks" were made with the tip of a small screwdriver and dull blade of a craft knife...

A miniature version of the "front yard" life-size flattie santa I've seen. Great work so far Howard!

update...1-21-2019...

gotta have elves to go with Santa!...here are the first four...i do plan to make more...a total of 12 eventually...

still cutting them out one at a time...and my plans to have them cut by a "la$er" has been sidelined for now...

my very best regards...

Oh my goodness, it’s an army of little elves. I can’t wait to see how you’ll display thses guys. And, I say, any tool that will get the job done, is the best tool to use. I use 11 different types of hammers to make textures in my metalsmithing - and a few random odds and ends too. YOur flatties are really adorable.

Howard, these are a great add to your line of flatties. Santa in particular looks like a candidate for the fatty-not-flattie treatment.
Keep 'em coming!
