54mm victorian style figurine source...not cheap...but the santa and snowman look perfect...i think 54mm height is a good size for villages...any smaller and they get lost...it's not about scale anyway with villages...

Another great source for putz figures--and I had quite forgotten about this--are what's known as "lampwork beads". I have found little penguins, santas, rabbits, etc. at Oriental Trading.

Go to www.orientaltrading.com
Type in the search box -- lampwork beads" and ta-da. They usually have about 150 plus beads--and a good third of them are suitable for putzing in my view.

Paul L., a frequent, if not very vocal visitor, says that the "finger puppets" of Oriental Trading will occasionally have good examples. Right now they have a Christmas set with a 2" Santa and snowman, for example. Here's the link for the category:

Christmas miniatures—really tiny—perfect for putzes--now beware--from experience, we know that the paint job on some of these is only so-so; we sometimes will spray paint white and using fine tip markers, re-do them! At these prices you can afford to make mistakes
