These two houses were purchased on the same eBay auction. I didn't really know they were as different as they turned out to be. The little light blue house turned out to have silver mullioned red windows which I destroyed fitting the new ones in it. Both are marked with an oval stamp mark with a period after the word JAPAN that ALMOST but does not quite touch the oval line. This is important to note as there are not that many stamped marks with that feature on it. Most have a period touching the line. The letter font is also somewhat different. It is my belief that these stamps were hand carved wood block stamps - Japan being the home of wood block carving. The silver mullioned red windows must be quite rare and I believe that Brian anticipated the find when he made up some - I used all he gave me of this type as there is an odd little side window that almost does not show as half of it is covered by a wall. It was ALMOST ruined by someone poking a hole in the side wall.

The other is of course what I call a Tar Paper Shack which was a ubiquitous type of dwelling in the south. Notice the long front porch in light blue gravelly finish - the rest is all coconut and I have used Pete's coconut to complete them. These are SMALL little house but with lots of character and interest. They measure 5 3/8 " long by 3 1/8" deep and 4 1/4" high.

Hi Tom - These look just great! Do you think there was ever a window in the dormer or the darker blue house? I havent seen any that are solid like the one that you posted. Also, I love the light blue color and the silver mullions on the other house - thats a nice combination!

Just in case anybody needs these special windows I have them for sale. I have the standard gold on red also, silver on red. gold on blue cellophane and silver on blue cellophane. Brain did a perfect job of reproducing these items for me.
